The Store

Antique shops have always belonged on Ventúrska ulica in Bratislava, and we still find several of them there today. Our store is located in a reconstructed two-storey historical building at number 14. The street (between Michalská brána / Michael’s Gate and Hviezdoslavovo námestie / Square) is part of the pedestrian zone, so that you have to leave your car before the entrance to the historical centre.

In the near vicinity are restaurants, coffeehouses with terraces and other businesses – Ventúrska is well known for its busy life and foreign tourists. The ideal place for a walk during which you can browse little shops and maybe discover some old forgotten treasure.

If a foreign tourist was to ask a guide about the history of Ventúrska ulica, he would receive a very voluminous answer. There is hardly a street in Slovakia with such a rich history. In the past the Bonaventúra or the Erdődy families were resident here. That’s why classic antique stores with an historic and artistic offer belong here.

A Habsburg Grand Duke was born on this street; there was a mint here, and very important newspapers were printed here. Matthias Corvinus founded the famous Academia Istropolitana here. Nowhere else in Slovakia is there such a concentration of palaces. In short, Ventúrska street has always been a centre of events, of politics and education, too.

It is therefore a privilege for us to operate our antique store on this street. We are very happy to meet with our customers personally and answer their questions. As you can see from the catalogue on our Web page, we are more orientated on quality than quantity. We can also exhibit antique goods of others in our spaces – after agreement on the conditions and commission.
